At various stages in my life, I’ve pursued my passions.  But for as long as I can remember, fashion and writing have been the two most consistent passions in my life.  While many were intrigued by Vogue and Elle, my first fashion magazine was W Magazine which, back in the day, was a newspaper (and yes, I still have all my old copies!).  While flipping through the pages, I told myself that one day I would contribute to the fashion industry. 

My name is Anisa Riddell and I’m a freelance writer based in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area.  Focused on features, fashion, and lifestyle, I’ve contributed to Innovative Fashion Council and 180 Magazine in San Francisco, as well as Ballad in the UK. 

As a 2nd year Graduate student in the Fashion Journalism Program at the Academy of Art University, I’m excited to write for fashionistas throughout the Bay Area and beyond.  So what can I add to San Jose Fashion Week?

Well for starters, I read all things fashion.  Blogs, magazines, newspapers….from DailyCandy to Style Rookie, Elle to WWD, you name it, I’ve read it.  Secondly, I love giving my opinion…unbiased and objective, of course! Last but not least, I tell it like it is.  I mean really, why waste time beating around the bush when fashion changes so quickly?
