Casey Jay
SJFW Fashion Writer / Reporter / Shopping / Fashion / Green Designers
Hi,
My name is Casey and I am thrilled to be a voice for San Jose Fashion Week. I have lived all of my 22 years in the Bay Area, in the little city of Campbell to be specific. I even stayed local for college, attending San Jose State University where I earned my degree in Magazine Journalism and minor in Psychology. I also competed for SJSU’s gymnastics team, which fulfilled one of my biggest dreams. Now that I am retired from leotards and back flips, I am pursuing my other great love; writing.
I have always enjoyed reading and writing about any subject, and decided in high school that I wanted to make it my career. I was a staff writer for both my high school and college newspapers, but found my true passion in a magazine writing class. When we can see not just the facts, but the people and the stories behind them, that is when we truly become engaged. I also really enjoy writing about new topics, even things I know little about. I find it’s the best way to learn and provide a truly honest account.
This is my first position as a fashion writer, and I am so excited to discover all I can about the fashion industry as well as provide my own knowledge and insight. I hope someday to be published in magazines across the country, and I plan to write at least one novel as well.
Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to e-mail me with any questions or comments at casey@sanjosefashionweek.com
